“Chigurh shot him three times so fast it sounded like one long gunshot and left most of the upper part of him spread across the headboard and the wall behind it.” This just shows me how vicious of a criminal Chigurh is. I mean does he have a soul? Does he even care about what he is doing? I don’t think so. I think he does it and he has no remorse.

Moss Looses The Money

I don’t understand how Moss knew there was someone else in the hotel room he had been staying in. I mean there were no cars around or nothing. And it is crazy the way he gets the money back. He goes through all that trouble. Building that hook and whatever. It show’s me that Moss is a determined person and that he will do anything to keep the money.

The Crime Scene

The description of the crime scene in the book is pretty brutle. I mean for me it draws me into the book. When Bell and Wendell go to visit the crime scene they are not the first ones to get there. There has been several people before them. When Moss gets to the crime scene it is just like the very first people left it. Then he takes the guns and the money.

“Chigurh took a twenty-five cent piece from his pocket………. Call it…. For what?…. Just call it………..I can’t call it for you. It wouldn’t be fair. It wouldn’t even be right. Just call it… I didn’t put anything up…. Yes you did. You’ve been putting it up your whole life. You just didn’t know it.”

This show’s me that Chigurh is crazy. He was gambling with this mans life. If I was this man I would have been terrified. I would have ran out in fear.

Why Does Moss Really Go Back?

Ok here’s what happened, Moss stumbles on a drug deal gone seriously wrong. While there out of all the men there, there is one that is still alive. He asks Moss for water but Moss doesn’t have any. So after Moss leaves and goes back home he descides to go back and this time he brings water for the man but when he gets there the man is already dead he was shot in the face by somebody.

I am curious as to what Moss was really going back there for. He had money, all he had to do was skip town and he could have been home free but no he went back to give that man water. Maybe he wanted to find out what was going on out there. Well he was a little too late.

“He was gurgling and bleeding from the mouth. He was strangling on his own blood. Chigurh only hauled all the harder. The nickelplated cuffs bit to the bone. The deputy’s right carotid artery burst and a jet of blood shot across the wall and ran down it.”

I think this is pretty interesting this is the main thing that initially drew me into the book. It also revealed to me that Chigurh is a ruthless criminal. He will do anything to get out of jail. And also what is pretty interesting about it is how calm McCarthy discribes Chigurh after the killing. All Chigurh basically did was quietly clean himself up and steal the deputy’s car and leave. It was very interesting.
